We often talk about forgiving others, rightly so, for it is so many ways at the core of God’s Law. However, do we not forget that we must also forgive ourselves?
Unforgivness of oneself is still a sin against God. It is so because if we refuse to forgive ourselves we are, de facto, guilty of putting ourselves in Gods place and arguing we have the right to judge ourselves when we do not and that is not humility but pride. It demeans the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross and is a break and a bar on us having a relationship with God.
So, in accepting His love we must also be sure we are willing to forgive ourselves and surrender to His judgement over all other, including our own.
